Sheffield United vs Tottenham Hotspur: probable lineups

It’s the final curtain of the Premier League season, and there’s still plenty to play for! Sheffield United host Tottenham Hotspur on Sunday afternoon, with Spurs needing just a single point to secure a fifth-place finish.

Sheffield United boss Chris Wilder will be breathing a sigh of relief, with some defensive reinforcements returning. Anel Ahmedhodzic is back from suspension, and Mason Holgate, who couldn’t face his parent club last time out, is also available again.

The Blades’ injury list remains lengthy though, with key players like Oli McBurnie and John Egan still sidelined. This could be Tottenham’s chance to snatch a win, especially considering their opponents’ threadbare squad.

Speaking of Spurs, things aren’t much rosier on the fitness front. Their midweek defeat to Manchester City came at a cost, with eight players still out injured. That means the likes of Richarlison and Ryan Sessegnon won’t be featuring at Bramall Lane.

Boss Ange Postecoglou was fuming after the City loss, so there could still be changes to the Spurs team despite the lengthy injury list. Rodrigo Bentancur, who wasn’t happy about being subbed in midweek, might find himself dropped in favour of Dejan Kulusevski. Micky van de Ven is likely to continue at left-back due to the ongoing injury crisis.

Here’s a look at how both teams might line up:

Sheffield United: Foderingham; Ahmedhodzic, Robinson, Trusty; Bogle, Souza, Hamer, Arblaster, Brooks; Brereton Diaz, Archer

Tottenham Hotspur: Vicario; Porro, Romero, Dragusin, Van de Ven; Sarr, Hojbjerg; Kulusevski, Maddison, Johnson; Son
