Fiorentina, Kean joins Gudmundsson on the sidelines: Palladino to rely on ex-player Kouamé

Raffaele Palladino is counting the absentees ahead of the Marassi clash. The Fiorentina coach will return to the “Ferraris” to face his former Genoa side but will have to do so with several absences, especially in the attacking department. With Albert Gudmundsson, another player who made his name with the Grifone and arrived in the summer for a fee of around 30 million euros between loan, buy-out and bonuses, on the sidelines, the Viola coach will have to redesign the attack once again. Moise Kean will also miss the trip, remaining in Florence following an ankle problem suffered against Roma.

An absence this season

So far this season, the striker has always been present in the nine games that De Gea and his teammates have played so far, scoring four goals in total. The forward, however, did not take part in the last European trip to San Gallo, a match which was nevertheless won 4-2 thanks to goals from Martinez Quarta, Ikoné (a brace) and Gosens.

Kouamé as a false nine

It will therefore be up to Christian Kouamé to lead Fiorentina’s attack. The Ivorian striker, also an ex-Rossoblù player, will have the task of playing as a false nine and trying to find the right spaces to hit the opposing defence. This season he has already collected 12 appearances without ever scoring but with four assists in the league and Conference League.
