Man of the Match: Cillessen (7): The Dutch goalkeeper stood tall against numerous attacks. Crucial in the early stages, he produced a stunning save to deny a powerful Valverde free-kick. He repeated the feat with a save from a long-range Rüdiger effort. After the break, despite his teammates’ lack of precision, he continued to impress, as shown by his save from a Mbappé shot. However, he was beaten from the spot by Vinicius’ penalty.
Las Palmas: 4-4-2
Cillessen: See above.
Park (6): He successfully marked Vinicius for a large part of the game, intercepting several balls from his opponent.
Suarez (4): After a solid hour, he was at fault for Real’s equaliser, handling the ball in the box. The referee correctly pointed to the spot.
Mckenna (5.5): Solid in his position, he stood out with several good interventions to dispossess the Madrid players.
Marmol (5): Dominant in his flank, he limited Brahim to few opportunities. The second half was more challenging due to Vazquez’s overlapping runs and Rodrygo’s dribbles.
Campana (5.5): Showed great energy in the game, particularly in winning the ball back. Replaced by Loiodice.
Rodriguez (6.5): An excellent performance from the Spanish midfielder, who combined defensive efforts with forward runs, as demonstrated by his superb pass to Ramirez early in the second half. Replaced by Fuster.
Munoz (5.5): In the heart of midfield, he controlled his opponents for the first hour before tiring.
Moleiro (6): He started the game with a moment of brilliance. On the edge of the box, he evaded Militão and Tchouaméni with a superb feint before beating Courtois with a low, driven shot. He was unable to repeat this feat. Replaced by Ramirez.
Mcburnie (6): The Scottish player provided the assist for Moleiro’s opener, finding him in space centrally. He was regularly involved in the home side’s attacks. Replaced by Rozada.
Ramirez (5): He caused problems down the right flank in the first half, repeatedly getting the better of Mendy. The second half was more subdued, despite a good chance before the hour mark when, after rounding Courtois, he failed to hit the target. Replaced by Mata.
Real Madrid: 4-3-3
Courtois (5): Beaten early on by Moleiro’s low drive, the Belgian goalkeeper had to remain alert throughout the game to prevent a second goal. After the break, he was dribbled past by Ramirez, who failed to capitalize. Subsequently, he commanded his area well in aerial duels.
Vazquez (5): Starting on the right, he took some time to get into the game. His early involvement was rather timid, lacking any real penetration. In the second half, his combination play with Rodrygo improved, and he consistently pushed forward. He was instrumental in winning the penalty for Güler after a fine run into the opposition’s box. Replaced by Carvajal.
Militão (3): A disappointing evening for the Brazilian defender who was consistently dominated by his opponents. For the opening goal, he was easily brushed aside by Moleiro’s skill. He committed several fouls to halt the home side’s attacks.
Rüdiger (5.5): Solid in one-on-one situations, he continued to take responsibility as he has done recently, as evidenced by his long-range shot which was well saved by Cillessen.
Mendy (2): Returning from suspension, he once again disappointed with a poor performance. Replaced by Garcia (5). A convincing cameo with a willingness to provide an attacking threat.
Valverde (6): As impressive as ever physically, the Uruguayan midfielder grew into the game. Having scored last weekend, he came close to repeating the feat. From a set-piece, his powerful strike was palmed away by Cillessen.
Tchouaméni (5): The Frenchman was valuable in winning the ball back, making numerous recoveries.
Modric (5): The Croatian magician was influential in possession but couldn’t find the key to unlock Las Palmas’ defence. Replaced by Güler.
Brahim Diaz (4): Invisible throughout the first half, the Moroccan failed to take his chance. Replaced by Rodrygo (5). A substitute appearance that should solidify his place in the starting XI. Active on the wing, the Brazilian created chances with his technical ability. In the build-up to the equaliser, he almost scored but Güler got there first and his shot was handled.
Mbappé (4): An improvement, but the Frenchman still lacked consistency. He tried to combine with his teammates but, like his finishing, his final ball was often lacking. With nine shots, he was constantly trying to make things happen, sometimes in areas where a team move would have been better, but he couldn’t trouble Cillessen, hitting the target just twice, one of which was easily saved.
Vinicius Jr (4.5): Lacking inspiration, the Brazilian winger, like Mbappé, failed to make a decisive impact. He scored from the penalty spot to open his account for the season and earn a point for Real Madrid. Replaced by Endrick.
