French media outlets are reporting that Real Madrid are close to finalizing the signing of French defender Leny Yoro.
According to journalists Pablo Gallego and Tanguy Soyer of Le Journal du Real, “Real Madrid and Lille are close to a total agreement for the French defender. The deal could be worth around 45 million euros, including bonuses.”
This information is corroborated by Mario Cortegana, José Félix Díaz, Ramón Álvarez de Mon, and Fabrizio Romano. The Italian journalist has provided an update on the situation just a few minutes ago: “Real Madrid remain confident in signing Leny Yoro, as the player has given them absolute priority. His dream is to play for Real Madrid. PSG, Liverpool and also Man United have made renewed attempts in the last 10 days, but Yoro is waiting for Real Madrid. Negotiations are underway with Lille,” Romano reported on his Twitter account.
All signs point to the official announcement of Leny Yoro’s signing by the best club in the world in the coming days. The player’s desire to join Real Madrid has been key to Lille softening their stance in the negotiations, despite rejecting higher offers from other clubs.
Real Madrid are very optimistic about the signing. They want the player to be available from next Monday, when the preseason starts. This will allow him to adapt to the team and Carlo Ancelotti’s ideas much sooner.
Militao and Rüdiger are still on vacation and will not join the team until shortly before Real Madrid’s tour of the United States. This is why the Italian coach wants to take at least one center-back who has done preseason training from the start.
