No sooner had he arrived on the shores of the Bosphorus than the Portuguese tactician is said to have big ambitions for the transfer window. And the latest lead takes us to Paris…
Beaten at the death by Galatasaray in the league, Fenerbahçe didn’t take long to react after their arch-rivals’ title win. President Ali Koç’s club did not hesitate to splash out €21 million to make José Mourinho their new coach until 2026. And that’s not all. Recently, the first rumours have emerged of the “Fener” club’s XXL ambition in the transfer market.
After Argentine Paulo Dybala, the yellow and blue team is said to be particularly interested in bringing back the nugget Arda Güler on loan. Two sexy names, but two names that seem unattainable. As for the Jewel, Mourinho has already indicated that he is not interested in his former protégés from Roma. As for Güler, Real Madrid are simply said to have no intention of loaning him out and want to integrate him more often into their rotation.
The Mendes connection
Today, the Turkish media Fanatik tells us that another glittering name has been ticked off by Fenerbahçe. This is Gonçalo Ramos (22 years old). Signed by PSG last summer for €65 million, the Portuguese striker has played second fiddle to Kylian Mbappé, but his record is far from ridiculous (14 goals, 2 assists in 40 matches, all competitions). Under contract with Paris until 2028, Ramos seems, at first glance, to be part of the plans for the post-Mbappé era.
Except that the Turkish newspaper assures the contrary. According to him, Paris would even be willing to let him go on loan. To support his information, Fanatik explains that President Koç is a close friend of Nasser Al-Khelaïfi and that agent Jorge Mendes, who represents Mourinho and Ramos, could play an important role. However, this rumour should be taken with a pinch of salt as Ramos’ departure would force PSG to recruit a replacement… while they still have to find Mbappé’s!
