Carvajal’s best season is capped off with a goal in the final. And who set him up, Toni Kroos who still has magic in his boots.
Real Madrid came to Wembley as the big favorites to win the Champions League, but they had been warned by PSG and Atlético de Madrid, and anything can happen in a final.
Ancelotti’s side were struggling to impose their game, with barely any chances for the Merengues and the Yellows forgiving some very clear ones, especially in the first half.
In the second half, they gradually settled down and got closer to the Yellows’ goal, but they still didn’t look comfortable and it seemed like we were heading for a heart-stopping finish.
But this is the Champions League and this is Real Madrid. Kroos wanted to leave his mark on the final and he did so by putting in a magical ball, like the ones he has been putting in throughout his career.
Carvajal, the shortest but the smartest, had to take advantage of the candy. He won the position over everyone and headed it home like Santillana.
