Kompany's first request to Bayern to strengthen the squad

Bayern Munich has started a new era under Vincent Kompany. The Bavarian club officially announced two days ago the arrival of the Belgian coach who will take charge of a team that wants to regain its reign in Germany. This season, the Munich team has come up empty-handed in terms of trophies and needs to get back to the top as soon as possible.

The first step to return to the elite of European football is to equip the squad with top-level players to make up for the deficits of the previous season. After his arrival, Kompany has already told the Bavarian board that he wants Oleksandr Zinchenko in his team, according to the ‘Mirror‘.

The Ukrainian full-back is currently playing for Arsenal, after joining in the summer of 2022 from Manchester City for a figure close to 35 million euros. In fact, Zinchenko and the current Bayern coach coincided at the ‘Cityzen’ team.

With Alphonso Davies’ future more out than in and Raphäel Guerreiro playing a secondary role, Bayern is looking for a top-level full-back who can occupy this position. In addition, the Ukrainian player has good ball control and, therefore, can also play in midfield.
