Burnley demands €23 million from Bayern for Kompany as Belgian’s staff takes shape

Vincent Kompany (38 years old) is on the verge of becoming the coach of Bayern Munich. According to the German press, there is already a principle agreement between the former Belgian captain and the Bundesliga club.

According to Bild newspaper, the English club relegated to the second division would demand compensation of no less than… €23.5 million for the Belgian coach, under contract until 2028. Bayern, on the other hand, wishes not to spend more than €10 million. For now, negotiations are at a standstill, but Bayern hopes to reach a compromise by the weekend.

Three years ago, the Germans had spent approximately €20 million to lure Julian Nagelsmann from RB Leipzig.

Meanwhile, Bayern is already working on assembling the sports staff, which is slowly taking shape. Craig Bellamy would remain in England, while René Maric would become his new assistant.

The Austrian is currently a development coach at Bayern and coach of the under-19 team, but would be open to a promotion to the first team. Internally, he has spoken highly of Kompany. The two know each other well as they obtained their coaching licenses together in Brussels. The former mentor of Anderlecht would bring along Floribert Ngalula, assistant coach, and Bram Geers, fitness coach.
