Fiorentina and Napoli are set to clash at Artemio Franchi, with only one spot and two points separating them in the Serie A standings.
Fiorentina, fresh from their Europa Conference League success, triumphed over Monza 2-1 recently. Despite this victory, they face a setback with Riccardo Sottil’s absence due to a collarbone injury. Manager Italiano must weigh his options carefully, although the rest of the squad seems fit for the upcoming encounter. Italiano may stick with the current lineup, especially with a week-long break ahead.
Jonathan Ikone and Andrea Belotti missed the Monza game but are likely to feature, albeit from the bench. Italiano remains optimistic about their availability.
On the other side, Napoli will be without Victor Osimhen, who’s been struggling with knee issues. His absence might give Giovanni Simeone a chance to shine against his former club. However, Giacomo Raspadori is another option to fill the void if Osimhen doesn’t recover in time.
Napoli also faces absences from Mario Rui, Pierluigi Gollini, and Piotr Zielinski due to injury. Jesper Lindstrom, although limited in training, is expected to be in the mix.
Here’s how both teams could line up:
Fiorentina’s likely XI: Terraciano; Kayode, Martinez Quarta, Milenkovic, Biraghi; Mandragora, Arthur; Gonzalez, Barak, Castrovilli; Beltran
Probable Napoli lineup: Meret; Di Lorenzo, Rrahmani, Jesus, Olivera; Cajuste, Lobotka, Anguissa; Politano, Raspadori, Kvaratskhelia
