PSG's pursuit of Victor Osimhen hits a snag

Despite reports in the Italian media suggesting an agreement between Victor Osimhen and Paris Saint-Germain, RMC Sport has cast doubt on the deal, stating that no such agreement has been reached.

With Kylian Mbappé set to leave PSG at the end of the season, the club is actively seeking a replacement for their star striker. Victor Osimhen, the Nigerian forward who has impressed at Napoli, has emerged as a top target.

Recent reports in the Italian media claimed that Osimhen had reached an agreement with PSG, but RMC Sport, a source known to be close to the deal, has contradicted these claims. According to RMC Sport, no agreement has been reached between Osimhen, Napoli, and PSG, casting a shadow over the potential transfer.

This news will likely come as a disappointment to PSG fans who were eagerly anticipating Osimhen’s arrival at the Parc des Princes. The Nigerian forward, who previously played for Lille, is reportedly open to joining PSG but is still far from agreeing to a move.

Financial Implications

It is worth noting that PSG made significant investments in attacking players last summer, spending around €160 million on Gonçalo Ramos and Randal Kolo Muani. Ramos, who was officially brought in mid-season, is not considered for sale, while Kolo Muani, who has struggled to find his footing in his first season at PSG, could see his future at the club jeopardized if Osimhen arrives.

The potential arrival of Osimhen could push Kolo Muani towards the exit door, as he would face increased competition for playing time. However, PSG’s decision will ultimately depend on Kolo Muani’s performance in the coming months.
