Zlatan Ibrahimovic pushes for Mark van Bommel as Milan’s new coach

Reports from France suggest that Zlatan Ibrahimovic is advocating for Mark van Bommel to be the next AC Milan manager.

According to French football news outlet ‘Footmercato‘, van Bommel is the name that Ibrahimovic is pushing for to take over the reins of the Rossoneri. Ibrahimovic and van Bommel are well-acquainted, having played together at Milan in the past. The prospect of bringing in van Bommel, who currently manages Antwerp, who finished third in the Belgian league this season, is reportedly appealing to the Swedish striker.

Official Statements on Milan’s Coaching Situation

While Ibrahimovic may have his preferences, Giorgio Furlani, a Milan insider, has stated that Stefano Pioli remains the club’s coach for now. Furlani emphasized that the focus is on finishing the season strong and that decisions regarding the coaching position will be made at the end of the season.

Pioli himself has addressed his future, stating that he is unsure if his “cycle” at Milan has ended. He acknowledged that Inter has been the stronger team this season and that Milan needs to improve.
