Sevilla set to revive pursuit of Luis Alberto once again

Luis Alberto has long been linked with a return to Sevilla, and the Spanish playmaker could finally be set for a move back to his former club this summer.

Alberto has been one of the most consistent attacking midfielders in Serie A in recent years, starring for Lazio. His impressive form has not gone unnoticed by Sevilla, who have been trying to re-sign him for several years.

The La Liga side’s chances of landing Alberto have been boosted by the player’s announcement that he will leave Lazio at the end of the season.

Sevilla sporting director Víctor Orta is reportedly making Alberto his top priority for the summer transfer window. He is determined to succeed where his predecessor Monchi failed in bringing the player back to the Ramón Sánchez Pizjuán.

Lazio are expected to be willing to let Alberto leave this summer, meaning Sevilla finally have a real chance to sign him.

Alberto is a Sevilla youth academy graduate and spent two seasons with the first team before joining Udinese in 2011. He returned to Sevilla in 2012 but only stayed for one season before moving to Liverpool.

After a disappointing spell in England, Alberto joined Lazio in 2013 and has since become one of the club’s most important players.

He is a creative and skilful midfielder with an eye for goal, and he would be a valuable addition to the Sevilla squad.

Sevilla will face competition from other clubs for Alberto’s signature, but they are confident that they can land the player this summer.
