Inter’s dilemma: Thuram’s €95 million release clause and potential summer sale

Marcus Thuram has been a revelation for Inter Milan this season, becoming their most exciting attacking force. The French forward joined on a free transfer from Borussia Mönchengladbach and has quickly adapted to Italian football and formed a strong partnership with Lautaro Martínez.

Thuram’s impressive performances have made him a key player for Simone Inzaghi’s side, but his future at the club could be uncertain due to Inter’s financial situation. The Nerazzurri are facing financial challenges, with a debt of €375 million and the future of the club’s ownership still unclear.

As a result, Inter may need to sell some of their star players in order to balance the books. Thuram is protected by a €95 million release clause, but reports suggest that the club would be willing to consider offers of around €75 million.

This is similar to the situation that Inter faced with other players in the past, such as Achraf Hakimi, Romelu Lukaku, André Onana, and Marcelo Brozović.

The decision of whether to sell Thuram will be a difficult one for Inter. They will need to weigh up the financial benefits of a sale against the loss of a valuable player.
