Real Madrid balks at Mbappé’s demand for Hakimi transfer

Kylian Mbappé’s highly anticipated move to Real Madrid is reportedly facing a slight complication, with the Spanish club refusing to fulfill one of the French star’s demands.

According to reports from Defensa Central, Mbappé has suggested that Real Madrid sign his Paris Saint-Germain teammate, Achraf Hakimi, as part of his transfer deal. However, Real Madrid president Florentino Perez has reportedly rejected this request.

The decision stems from Perez’s reluctance to negotiate with PSG owners Nasser Al-Khelaïfi and Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani. Additionally, Perez has reportedly received information that two Premier League clubs are also interested in signing Hakimi.

Hakimi, a 25-year-old right-back, joined PSG from Inter Milan in 2021 for a fee of €68 million. His current contract runs until June 2026, and his transfer value is estimated at €65 million by Transfermarkt.

Born in Madrid, Hakimi came through Real Madrid’s youth academy between 2015 and 2018. He then spent two years on loan at Borussia Dortmund before joining Inter Milan. During his time at PSG, Hakimi has made 113 appearances, scoring 13 goals and providing 17 assists.

While Mbappé’s move to Real Madrid is still expected to go through, this development highlights the complexities involved in high-profile player transfers. Real Madrid’s decision not to pursue Hakimi could potentially impact Mbappé’s satisfaction with his new club.
