Chelsea eyeing €100 Million move for Mike Maignan

Chelsea are reportedly preparing to make a massive offer for AC Milan goalkeeper Mike Maignan, with a potential transfer fee of €100 million being touted.

Maignan, a 28-year-old French international, has been in excellent form for AC Milan this season, keeping 14 clean sheets in 37 appearances across all competitions. However, he is yet to reach an agreement with the Italian club on a contract extension, with his current deal expiring in June 2026.

Chelsea, who are looking to strengthen their squad ahead of the next transfer window, are reportedly willing to exploit this situation by making a substantial offer for Maignan. According to Calciomercato, the Blues are prepared to pay up to €100 million for the French goalkeeper.

A Potential Record Transfer for a French Goalkeeper

If Chelsea’s offer is accepted, it would make Maignan the most expensive French goalkeeper in history, surpassing the €71 million that Manchester City paid for Ederson Moraes in 2017.

The decision of whether or not to sell Maignan will ultimately lie with AC Milan. The Italian club may be tempted by the hefty transfer fee, but they will also need to consider the difficulty of finding a suitable replacement for their star goalkeeper.

Maignan’s potential move to Chelsea would be a major coup for the Blues, who are clearly determined to build a squad capable of challenging for the top honors in both domestic and European competitions. The €100 million price tag would make it a record-breaking transfer for a French goalkeeper, and it would be a clear statement of Chelsea’s ambition.
