PSG: Kylian Mbappé’s woes mount after lackluster performance against Barcelona

Kylian Mbappé’s underwhelming performance against FC Barcelona in the Champions League quarterfinals has further intensified the unease surrounding him at PSG. His ghostly display, potentially his last European match at the Parc des Princes, has reportedly caused growing frustration within the club.

Mbappé has been struggling to find his form in recent matches, and his performance against Barcelona was a prime example. He was largely ineffective throughout the game, failing to make any significant impact or pose any real threat to the opposition.

According to French newspaper L’Equipe, Mbappé’s recent performances, coupled with his behavior, have reportedly led to a strained relationship with the club’s management. Additionally, his status has reportedly deteriorated significantly in the eyes of manager Luis Enrique, who now views him as just another player in the squad.

Mbappé’s current slump is a far cry from his usual standards. His goal-scoring record has plummeted, with only one goal in his last six matches. Such a dry spell is rare for the French international, with the last time he experienced a similar drought being in 2021 during a disappointing Euro 2020 campaign, when he went eight matches without scoring.
