Victor Osimhen to PSG: Transfer agreement almost complete, salary revealed

With Kylian Mbappé’s departure at the end of the season all but certain, PSG are scrambling to find a replacement, at least statistically. On the Naples side, Victor Osimhen is eager to explore a new project.

Last season, Victor Osimhen was on fire. Serie A top scorer with 26 goals, he led Napoli to the championship title. His season earned him 8th place in the Ballon d’Or 2023. Between the AFCON 2023 and a few injuries, the Nigerian played 19 out of 31 possible league games. With 12 goals, he is currently sixth in the Italian scoring charts.

For several weeks, even months, PSG’s interest in Osimhen has been reported in the French and Italian press. According to Il Mattino, PSG are close to signing the Napoli striker, several months before the transfer window opens. An agreement on a 4-year contract for a salary of 13 million euros per year is very close. The player will also have the possibility to manage his image.

Good relations between the two clubs

The good relations between the presidents of the two clubs will help to find an agreement quickly. PSG will pay the €120M clause, but it remains to be seen whether the payment will be made in one go, explains Il Mattino. In the past, PSG and Naples have already negotiated for Cavani, Lavezzi and Fabian Ruiz.

While in the capital a few days ago, Victor Osimhen reportedly took the opportunity to settle some personal matters. Il Mattino reveals that the striker’s first choice is to join PSG, even if he would have dreamed of joining the Premier League. With Paris-Saint-Germain close to reaching a total agreement, it is difficult to see an English club reviving the Osimhen case.

Before the final details are settled, PSG must prepare for Kylian Mbappé’s departure. Then, Paris will be able to continue its reconstruction to give Luis Enrique the squad he needs.
