PSG interested in Atlético defender Mario Hermoso

Mario Hermoso is set to leave Atlético de Madrid on June 30th. As reported previously, the player’s contract expires this season and after talks with the board, no agreement has been reached due to significant differences between the two parties.

Although Hermoso has a substantial offer from Saudi Arabia, the defender is not convinced about moving to an exotic league, and he is also not interested in the FC Barcelona project. However, a new possibility has emerged among Europe’s top clubs, with PSG reportedly monitoring the former Espanyol player’s situation.

Luis Enrique, a keen follower of Spanish football and former national team coach, has conveyed to the sporting director of the French club the idea of signing the red-and-white player for free next summer.

It is worth remembering that back in 2019, when the player was playing for Espanyol, PSG tried unsuccessfully to sign him, but at that time Atlético convinced the defender to stay. Now the situation could be reversed. Andrea Berta does not intend to change his mind and for Hermoso, the mattress offer is insufficient. Moving to Paris could be a very interesting option with Lucho in charge.

Atlético will not change their plan with the defender, so a renewal is not expected under any circumstances. It is worth keeping an eye on Real Sociedad, who could make a move for him again if Le Normand leaves for the Metropolitano.
