Marseille defender Chancel Mbemba will miss Friday’s Ligue 1 match against Lille with a knee injury.
Mbemba was forced off in the second half of Sunday’s 2-0 defeat to Paris Saint-Germain after suffering a blow to his left knee.
Scans on Monday confirmed that Mbemba has suffered a contusion, and he is expected to be out for around two weeks.
The 27-year-old will be a major blow for Marseille, who are currently fourth in Ligue 1. Mbemba has been a key player for Marseille this season, making 26 appearances in all competitions.
He is expected to return to action for the second leg of Marseille’s Europa Conference League quarter-final against PAOK on April 14.
Lille without Angel Gomes
Lille will also be without a key player for Friday’s match, as Angel Gomes is ruled out with a hamstring injury.
Gomes has been in impressive form for Lille this season, scoring four goals and providing six assists in 25 appearances.
His absence will be a blow for Lille, who are currently sixth in Ligue 1.
Adam Ounas is expected to return to the Lille squad after missing the win over Lens last weekend with a muscle injury.
Nabil Bentaleb will also start for Lille, despite being suspended for the next match against Strasbourg.
