Kylian Mbappé sends PSG to Coupe de France final

Kylian Mbappé scored the lone goal as Paris Saint-Germain defeated Rennes 1-0 in the Coupe de France semi-final on Wednesday night.

The match was a tight affair, with both teams creating chances but unable to find the back of the net. Mbappé finally broke the deadlock in the 40th minute, when his shot was deflected in off of Rennes defender Warmed Omari.

The goal was enough to give PSG the win and send them to the Coupe de France final for the first time since 2021. They will face Lyon in the final on May 8th at the Stade de France.

Mbappé the star of the show

Mbappé was the star of the show for PSG, and he was a constant threat throughout the match. He came close to scoring on several occasions, but he was denied by Rennes goalkeeper Steve Mandanda on each occasion.

Mbappé’s goal was the difference in the match, and he was rightly named the man of the match. He was a constant threat down the left wing, and he caused the Rennes defense all sorts of problems.

PSG show defensive solidity

One of the most encouraging aspects of PSG’s performance was their defensive solidity. The team kept a clean sheet for the second consecutive match, and they looked very solid at the back.

This is a good sign for PSG ahead of their upcoming Champions League quarter-final tie against Barcelona. If they can continue to defend like this, they will be a very tough team to beat.

Overall, it was a good performance from PSG. They were not at their best, but they did enough to win the match and reach the Coupe de France final. They will be hoping to go one step further and win the trophy on May 8th.
