Sevilla eyeing Kepa Arrizabalaga as new goalkeeper

Sevilla are reportedly interested in signing Kepa Arrizabalaga as their new goalkeeper for the upcoming season. The Spanish shot-stopper is currently on loan at Real Madrid from Chelsea, but he is not part of the Blues’ long-term plans, according to Todofichajes.

Sevilla have been looking for a new goalkeeper since the departure of Bono last summer. Neither Dmitrovic nor Nyland have been able to fully convince as his replacement, and sporting director Víctor Orta has been looking for a change for some time.

Kepa arrived at Real Madrid last summer to cover for the long-term absence of Thibaut Courtois. However, he has lost his place in the team to Andriy Lunin in the second half of the season.

The 28-year-old will return to London in June after his loan spell at the Bernabéu expires. Chelsea have already made it clear to him that he is not part of their future plans. With one year left on his contract, both parties have already started talks about terminating his contract. Kepa is not willing to give up the rest of his salary.

Sevilla are waiting for the outcome of the talks between Kepa and Chelsea before making a move for the player. They are confident that they can reach an agreement with the Blues and bring Kepa to the Sánchez Pizjuán.
