With Thomas Tuchel leaving at the end of the season, Bayern Munich is hard at work planning for next season and has targeted its new coach. The top priority is Xabi Alonso.
The Spanish coach, who currently leads Bayer Leverkusen, which is 10 points ahead of Bayern Munich in the Bundesliga, is very much liked by the Bavarians. However, according to Sport Bild, the Rekordmeister is working on another option if that one does not work out.
The German media outlet also reports that there was a conversation between Roberto De Zerbi and the new sporting director of the German club, Max Eberl, who took the opportunity to show his interest. While Xabi Alonso remains Bayern Munich’s plan A, the German club is also preparing its fallback options and having alternatives.
