Zidane dreams of Real Madrid return, claims Gazzetta

Italian newspaper La Gazzetta dello Sport has dropped a bombshell on Wednesday, claiming that Zinedine Zidane is dreaming of a return to Real Madrid as manager.

Zidane, who left Real Madrid in 2021 after a tumultuous second spell in charge, has not yet returned to management. However, according to the Italian publication, he has never hidden his desire to one day return to the helm of the Merengues, where he enjoyed immense success as both a player and a coach.

The former French playmaker won three consecutive Champions League titles with Real Madrid between 2016 and 2018, as well as two La Liga crowns and two Club World Cups. He is widely regarded as one of the greatest managers in the club’s history.

A Possible Return?

Real Madrid are currently led by Carlo Ancelotti, who recently extended his contract until 2026. However, it is not inconceivable that Zidane could replace him in the future.

Zidane has always been a popular figure with Real Madrid fans and his return would be greeted with enthusiasm by many. It remains to be seen whether the club would be willing to give him a third chance.
