The saga surrounding Kylian Mbappé’s future continues to rumble on, with the player himself refusing to be drawn on the matter when questioned by reporters ahead of France’s upcoming matches against Germany and South Africa.
Mbappé, who is out of contract at Paris Saint-Germain at the end of the season, has been heavily linked with a move to Real Madrid, but he has so far remained coy on his plans.
“I’ll be focused on the French national team when the Euros come around,” he said. “I think things will be resolved by then. I don’t have anything to announce. The day I have something to say, I’ll say it.”

Mbappé’s words suggest that nothing has been decided yet, at least publicly, but Real Madrid fans will be hoping that the wait for a resolution to this long-running saga is not too much longer.
One factor that could influence Mbappé’s decision is the outcome of the Champions League. According to Jérôme Rothen, a pundit for RMC Sport and a former PSG player, Mbappé is unlikely to make any announcement until he knows whether he will be facing Real Madrid in the competition next season.
“As long as there is the possibility of a PSG-Real Madrid tie in the Champions League, he won’t announce anything,” said Rothen.
This suggests that Mbappé’s future could hinge on the results of the two teams’ respective quarter-final ties. PSG face Bayern Munich, while Real Madrid take on Chelsea.
If both teams progress to the semi-finals, it would set up a mouth-watering clash between the two European giants, and one that could have a major bearing on Mbappé’s decision-making.
