Inter Milan are reportedly close to agreeing a contract extension with midfielder Nicolò Barella.
According to Italian newspaper La Gazzetta dello Sport, Barella is set to sign a new deal that will keep him at the club until 2028. The current contract expires in 2026.
The 25-year-old has been a key player for Inter since joining from Cagliari in 2019. He has made 144 appearances in all competitions, scoring 14 goals and providing 39 assists.
Barella’s current salary is €5 million per year. The new deal is expected to be worth around €6 million per year, making him one of the highest-paid players at the club.
The extension is a major boost for Inter, who have been keen to tie down Barella to a long-term contract. He is considered to be one of the best midfielders in Europe and has been linked with moves to Liverpool, Real Madrid, and Newcastle in the past.
