Alexander-Arnold on Real Madrid move: “If it were up to me…”

Trent Alexander-Arnold has been linked with a move to Real Madrid in recent months. The Liverpool right-back is considered one of the best in the world in his position, and the Spanish giants are reportedly looking for a long-term successor to Dani Carvajal.

According to Fabrizio Romano, there have been no talks between Liverpool and Real Madrid about a potential transfer. However, the Italian journalist claims that the La Liga club are monitoring Alexander-Arnold’s contract situation.

The 24-year-old’s current deal expires in 2025, and Liverpool are not in a hurry to sell him. However, they are likely to demand a significant fee if they do decide to cash in on him.

Alexander-Arnold has been made aware of the interest from Real Madrid. He is said to be flattered by the links, but he is also happy at Liverpool.

When asked about the rumors, Alexander-Arnold joked that his England teammate Jude Bellingham should be the one moving to Madrid. However, he did not rule out a move to the Spanish capital in the future.

“If it were up to me, my mate Jude would be at Madrid today…” Alexander-Arnold told reporters. “But I’m happy at Liverpool and we’ll see what happens in the future.”

It remains to be seen whether Real Madrid will make a move for Alexander-Arnold in 2025. However, the player’s comments suggest that he would be open to the idea.
