Bayern Munich’s Sacha Boey suffers another injury setback

Bayern Munich’s Sacha Boey has suffered yet another injury setback, just weeks after returning from a previous layoff.

The French international, who joined Bayern in the January transfer window as a replacement for the out-of-favor Noussair Mazaroui, has yet to make a significant impact at the club.

Boey initially injured his left thigh in February, tearing a muscle fiber that kept him sidelined for several weeks. He made his comeback in early March, but his return to action was short-lived.

On Wednesday, Boey suffered a new injury, this time a torn muscle bundle in his right thigh. The setback is expected to keep him out for “several weeks.”

Boey’s injury woes a major blow to Bayern

Boey’s injury is a major blow to Bayern, who are already struggling at right-back.

Mazaroui has failed to live up to expectations since joining from Ajax last summer, while Bouna Sarr has been inconsistent and Joshua Kimmich has been linked with a move away from the club.

The injury also puts Boey’s hopes of playing in the European Championship this summer in doubt.

The 22-year-old had been hoping to break into the France squad for the tournament, but his recent setbacks have made that goal seem increasingly unlikely.

Despite the latest setback, Boey has vowed to fight back and return to action as soon as possible.

“I’m going to do everything I can to get back on the pitch,” he said. “I know I have the quality to succeed at Bayern Munich and I’m not going to give up.”
