Antonio Conte wanted by Bayern Munich, but his heart is in Italy

Bayern Munich are reportedly interested in bringing Antonio Conte to the Allianz Arena next season, but the Italian coach seems to have his sights set on a return to Serie A.

Conte, who left Tottenham a year ago, is a free agent and has been linked with several top jobs in Europe. According to La Repubblica, he’s currently Bayern’s top choice to replace under-fire manager Thomas Tuchel.

However, this wouldn’t be Conte’s first time rejecting the Bavarians. The report claims he’s more interested in a return to Italy, where he can be closer to his family.

Having already said no to Napoli and with Roma seemingly happy under Daniele De Rossi, Conte’s options appear limited. The only real possibilities seem to be AC Milan or a surprising return to Juventus.

Conte is actively pushing for a Juventus reunion, especially with reports of a strained relationship between manager Max Allegri and the club.

It’s worth noting that Conte is a Juventus legend, having played for them in the 90s and then managing them to three consecutive Serie A titles between 2011 and 2014.

Another potential option for Bayern could be Bologna’s Thiago Motta, but for now, it seems Conte’s heart belongs in Italy.
