Juventus 0-0 Genoa: Player Ratings
Man of the Match: D. Spence (7)

Spence was the standout player for Genoa, putting in an excellent defensive performance against Chiesa, Iling and Kostic. He was also a threat going forward, providing the only real danger for the visitors. His defensive display was a masterclass, and he rarely put a foot wrong on the right flank. He was also composed and precise in his passing, helping to build attacks from deep.

Juventus (3-5-2)

W.Szczesny (5)

Made a good save early on but was largely untroubled for the rest of the match.

F.Gatti (5.5)

Was the only Juventus player who looked like scoring, making several dangerous runs into the box. He also showed good strength and athleticism in the air.

G.Bremer (5)

Solid as usual, he didn’t have a lot to do but made all the necessary interventions.

Danilo (4)

Looked shaky at times and didn’t offer much reassurance to his teammates. He was dominated by Vitinha in the air and on the ground.

A.Cambiaso (4)

Poor performance from the young full-back, who made several poor decisions in the final third. He was replaced by Kean on 83 minutes.

F.Miretti (4)

Struggled to make an impact on the game and was often bullied by the Genoa midfield. He was replaced by Weah on 78 minutes.

M.Locatelli (3)

Another disappointing performance from the Italian, who offered little creativity or energy in midfield.

W.Mckennie (4)

Quiet game from the American, who didn’t have his usual impact on the game. He seemed to be struggling with a shoulder injury and was replaced by Rabiot on 58 minutes.

F.Kostic (3)

Ineffective on both sides of the ball, the Serbian lost possession cheaply on several occasions and offered little in attack. He was replaced by Iling Jr on 58 minutes.

F.Chiesa (3)

Frustrating afternoon for Chiesa, who was well marshalled by Spence. He failed to create any chances and was eventually substituted on 58 minutes.

D.Vlahovic (2)

Poor performance from the striker, who was sent off for dissent late on. He was largely anonymous in attack and will now miss the game against Lazio.

Genoa (3-4-2-1)

J.Martinez (5)

Made a few saves but was largely untroubled by the Juventus attack.

J.Vasquez (5.5)

Solid performance from the Mexican, who kept Vlahovic quiet and was good in possession.

M.Bini (5.5)

Another solid performance from the Italian, who was strong in the air and made some important interceptions.

K.De Winter (5.5)

The young Belgian defender on loan from Juventus was solid against his former teammates, making some good blocks and interceptions.

D.Spence (7)

See above.

M.Badelj (5)

The experienced Croatian midfielder was solid in the middle of the park, using his physical strength and technical ability to help his team earn a point.

M.Frendrup (5)

Not flashy but did his job in protecting the Genoa defense, using his physical strength to make things difficult for the Juventus midfield.

J.Messias (5)

Decent performance from the Brazilian, who was poor offensively but good defensively.

A.Gudmundsson (4)

Average game from the Icelandic, who didn’t have much to do in this match. He worked hard defensively to help his team out.

Vitinha (6)

Big game from the Portuguese, who was poor offensively but excellent defensively. He was also a thorn in the side of Danilo, the experienced Juventus captain. A very encouraging performance from the player on loan from Marseille!

M.Retegui (4)

Tough game for the Italian, who was rarely seen in the Juventus box apart from his early clash with Danilo. However, the nature of the game didn’t help him, as Genoa were looking for a point.
