FC Barcelona is known for its sense of humor, and the club wasted no time in trolling Paris Saint-Germain after the Champions League quarterfinal draw.
Barca and PSG will meet in the quarterfinals for the second time in six years, and the Catalans are clearly looking forward to the matchup.
“Do you remember this? Of course you remember,” Barca posted on social media, along with a photo of Lionel Messi and Neymar celebrating the famous comeback win on March 8, 2017.
Barca lost the first leg 4-0, but Messi and Neymar scored two goals each in a 6-1 victory at Camp Nou to send Barca through to the semifinals.
The Blaugrana dressing room is reportedly delighted with the draw.
According to AS journalist Javi Miguel, the Barca players are happy to avoid Real Madrid and Manchester City, the two other teams in the top half of the draw.
Barca will also have the advantage of playing the second leg at home.
However, the Catalans will be without several key players due to suspension, including Andreas Christensen, Ronald Araujo, Frenkie de Jong, Sergio Roberto, Ferran Torres, and Pedri.
PSG is not about to take Barca lightly, either.
“I think there is no favorite in this match,” PSG captain Marquinhos said. “Anything can happen. We have to go for it and we have to be very strong. We don’t want to talk too much about our opponent, but I know it’s important to study them and see what they do. But we are really focused on ourselves.”
The first leg will be played on April 11 at the Parc des Princes, and the second leg will be played on April 18 at Camp Nou.
