Real Madrid are set to offer Lucas Vázquez a two-year contract, with an option for a third year, according to reports.
The Spanish defender’s current deal expires at the end of the season, and he has been linked with a move away from the Bernabéu.
However, Madrid are keen to keep Vázquez, who has been a key player for Carlo Ancelotti’s side this season.
The 29-year-old has made 34 appearances in all competitions, scoring two goals and providing seven assists.
He has been particularly impressive in recent weeks, filling in at right-back for the injured Dani Carvajal.
Madrid are not planning to make a major investment in the right-back position this summer, and they believe that Vázquez is the best option available to them.
The club are confident that Vázquez will accept their offer, and they are hopeful that he will remain at the Bernabéu for the foreseeable future.
