Arsenal and Liverpool battle for €60m Eintracht Frankfurt defender

Arsenal and Liverpool are reportedly interested in signing Eintracht Frankfurt defender Willian Pacho, according to Bild.

The 22-year-old has been impressive for the Bundesliga side this season, making 35 appearances in all competitions.

Pacho is a strong and athletic defender who is comfortable playing in a back three or a back four. He is also good on the ball and has an eye for a pass.

Pacho is under contract at Frankfurt until 2028, but the club are reportedly willing to sell him for €60m.

That is a significant fee, but it is one that Arsenal and Liverpool are both willing to pay.

Arsenal are in need of defensive reinforcements after losing David Luiz and Sokratis Papastathopoulos at the end of last season.

They have been linked with a number of defenders, but Pacho is seen as a top target.

Liverpool are also looking to strengthen their defence. Virgil van Dijk is out for the season with a knee injury, and Joel Matip has been struggling with injuries.

Pacho would be a good addition to the Liverpool squad, and he would provide competition for places.

It remains to be seen which club will win the race for Pacho’s signature.

Both Arsenal and Liverpool are strong contenders, and it could come down to who is willing to pay the higher fee.
