Serie A: Napoli thrash Sassuolo 6-1, Osimhen scores hat-trick

Napoli returned to winning ways in Serie A with a dominant 6-1 victory over Sassuolo. The win, their first away win since November, was inspired by a brilliant hat-trick from Nigerian striker Victor Osimhen.

Sassuolo surprised the visitors by taking an early lead through Uroš Račić, but Napoli responded quickly with three goals before halftime. André-Frank Zambo Anguissa and Osimhen (twice) found the net, with Matteo Politano providing two assists.

Osimhen continued his scoring spree in the second half, tapping in his third goal after a mistake from the Sassuolo defense. Khvicha Kvaratskhelia then stole the show with two dazzling goals. His first came after a mesmerizing solo run, while his second was a powerful strike from inside the box.

The win moves Napoli closer to securing a Champions League spot, while Sassuolo remain in the relegation zone.

  • Sassuolo’s struggles continue: The defeat leaves them in the relegation zone and they will need to improve their form if they want to avoid the drop.
