Real Madrid and Alphonso Davies reach verbal agreement for 2024 or 2025 transfer

Real Madrid and Alphonso Davies have reached a verbal agreement for the Bayern Munich left-back to join the club in either 2024 or 2025, according to The Athletic.

There are two options on the table, with Real willing to either strike a deal below market value this summer – similar to the Toni Kroos transfer in 2014 – or wait until the following year when Davies’ contract expires, like David Alaba in 2021.

Bayern and Real Madrid have not yet opened negotiations, with the Bundesliga champions still trying to convince the player to extend his contract and having rejected offers for potential replacements for the Canadian international in recent months.

However, Bayern do not want to lose Davies for free, and if they cannot reach an agreement on new terms, they will look to maximize his transfer fee by selling him this summer.
