EXCLUSIVE – PSG to make offer for Frimpong, regardless of Hakimi’s future

Paris Saint-Germain are reigniting their interest in Jeremie Frimpong, the Bayer Leverkusen defender they first eyed two years ago. This time, they’re prepared to make a concrete offer at the end of the season, regardless of Achraf Hakimi’s future at the club according to our sources.

Frimpong’s versatility is a major draw for PSG. He can comfortably play both right-back and right midfield, offering valuable cover and potential tactical flexibility. This adaptability has caught the eye of both Luis Enrique and Luis Campos, who are keen to add him to their squad.

However, PSG won’t have an easy run at the 25-year-old. Several English clubs are also circling, with Liverpool reportedly joining the chase. Frimpong’s market value is estimated between €50 million and €60 million, but a release clause of around €40 million could complicate matters.

This potential transfer suggests PSG are looking to bolster their defensive options, even if Hakimi stays. Frimpong’s ability to play multiple roles could see him compete with the Moroccan international for the starting spot, or provide valuable depth in both positions.

One thing’s for sure: the battle for Frimpong’s signature is set to heat up. With several big clubs interested and a release clause in play, PSG will need to act fast and decisively if they want to secure their man.
