Almería stings Atleti with late Equalizer, Romero shines in 2-2 Draw

UD Almería held mighty Atlético Madrid to a thrilling 2-2 draw at the Power Horse Stadium, extending their winless streak but raising their spirits with a resilient performance. The result leaves Atleti precariously perched in the top four, while Almería remain rooted to the bottom despite their recent unbeaten run.

Atlético started with a bang, Correa firing them ahead within two minutes. But Almería refused to wilt, with teenage loanee Luka Romero equalizing with a stunning long-range strike. Samuel Lino almost restored Atleti’s lead, but Maximiano pulled off a fantastic save.

The second half was slower, but De Paul gave Atleti the lead again with a deflected shot. However, Romero once again stole the show, weaving his magic with Viera before rifling home a sublime finish with his left foot.

Morata nearly snatched a late winner for Atleti, but his shot sailed over the bar. The draw could see Atleti drop out of the top four, while Almería remain winless but take heart from their unbeaten run.
