Marseille in talks with Jean-Louis Gasset to replace Gennaro Gattuso

Marseille are in talks with Jean-Louis Gasset to replace Gennaro Gattuso as head coach, according to RMC Sport.

Gattuso resigned after Sunday’s 1-0 defeat at Brest, which left Marseille in seventh place in Ligue 1.

Gasset, 70, is a former Montpellier, Saint-Etienne and Bordeaux coach. He most recently worked as manager of the Ivory Coast national team, but resigned during the Africa Cup of Nations in January.

Gasset would be a popular choice with Marseille fans.

He is known for his attacking style of play and his ability to get the best out of his players.

He would also be a good fit for Marseille’s current squad.

The team has a number of talented attacking players, such as Dimitri Payet, Arkadiusz Milik and Cengiz Under.

Gasset would be tasked with turning around Marseille’s fortunes.

The team have not won a trophy since 2012 and have not qualified for the Champions League since 2013.

Gasset would be a good appointment for Marseille.

He is an experienced coach with a proven track record. He would be a good fit for the club and would be tasked with turning around their fortunes.
