Inter Milan held their final training session on Tuesday ahead of their Champions League clash against Atletico Madrid.
The Nerazzurri will host the Colchoneros at San Siro on Wednesday night in the first leg of their last-16 tie. Simone Inzaghi’s side are without Francesco Acerbi, Juan Guillermo Cuadrado and Stefano Sensi for the match.
Acerbi is still recovering from a thigh injury, while Cuadrado is suspended and Sensi is not included in Inter’s Champions League squad. Inzaghi is expected to make two changes to the team that started against Salernitana on Saturday.
Darmian and Dimarco will return to the starting XI at full-back, with De Vrij and Skriniar continuing at centre-back. Barella, Brozovic and Calhanoglu are likely to start in midfield, with Lautaro Martinez and Edin Dzeko in attack. Inter will be looking to get a positive result in the first leg ahead of the return match in Madrid on March 15.
The Nerazzurri have a good record against Atletico Madrid, having won four of their last five meetings. They will be confident of their chances of reaching the quarter-finals if they can avoid defeat at San Siro.
