Roma continued their winning ways under Daniele de Rossi with a convincing 3-0 victory over Frosinone, their fourth triumph in five Serie A matches. While Frosinone threatened early, it was a moment of individual brilliance from teenager Dean Huijsen that stole the show and paved the way for the Giallorossi’s win.
Despite the home side’s strong start, Roma created the first real chance after 15 minutes. Romelu Lukaku unleashed a powerful shot that forced Stefano Turati into a smart save. Frosinone responded through Matías Soulé, whose long-range effort was superbly parried by Mile Slivar in the Roma goal.
However, the game turned on its head just before half-time. Huijsen, in a moment of magic, picked up the ball near the halfway line, bypassed two defenders with dazzling footwork, and unleashed a curling screamer that left Turati rooted to the spot. It was a goal worthy of winning any match, and it gave Roma a crucial lead heading into the break.
Frosinone pushed hard for an equalizer in the second half, but Pol Lirola’s effort on the hour mark was the only time they truly tested Slivar. At the other end, El Shaarawy tried his luck from distance, but his shot sailed over the bar.
Roma then doubled their advantage with 20 minutes remaining. Bryan Cristante unleashed a powerful shot from distance that Turati spilled, and Sardar Azmoun was on hand to tap home the rebound. The visitors sealed the victory in the final ten minutes after VAR awarded them a penalty for a handball by Caleb Okoli. Leandro Paredes stepped up and calmly converted the spot-kick, sending Turati the wrong way.
This win not only extends Roma’s perfect record against Frosinone (scoring at least twice in all six meetings) but also sees them continue their climb up the Serie A table. Meanwhile, Frosinone are in danger of slipping into the relegation zone after just one win in their last ten matches.
Man of the Match: Dean Huijsen (Roma) for his stunning solo goal.
