Napoli 1-1 Genoa: Player Ratings

MAN OF THE MATCH – MARTINEZ (6): Made some crucial saves to keep Genoa in the game, including denying Kvaratskhelia on several occasions.

NAPOLI

MERET (5): Had little to do until the Genoa goal, where he could perhaps have done more to keep out the shot.

DI LORENZO (5): Redeemed himself with a headed assist for Napoli’s goal. Booked in the 54th minute.

RRAHMANI (4): Solid performance until the Genoa goal, where he failed to close down the scorer.

ØSTIGARD (4): Booked early on (26th minute) and made a goal-saving block, but offered little else. Replaced by NATAN (45th minute) (4), who failed to make an impact offensively.

MAZZOCHI (4): Quiet game on the wing, failing to provide enough support to his attackers. Replaced by OLIVERA (65th minute).

ZAMBO ANGUISSA (6): Napoli’s best player, he ran tirelessly, won tackles, and drove forward. Missed a good chance from a corner.

LOBOTKA (6): Like his midfield partner, he tried to do everything, trying to break through the opposition’s lines with passes and runs, but his intensity dropped off late in the game.

TRAORÉ (4): Uninspired performance, lacking in creativity. Replaced by LINDSTRÖM (59th minute).

POLITANO (5): Started brightly, with some good ideas and a few dribbles, but faded out of the game. Replaced by NGONGE (59th minute), who scored the equalizer in the 90th minute with a well-placed shot.

KVARATSKHELIA (6): Constantly dribbling, provoking, and looking to unsettle his opponents, but was a bit too individualistic. His good crosses found no takers. Booked for dissent in the 43rd minute.

SIMEONE (4): Invisible for most of the game, he was not helped by his teammates, who rarely responded to his good runs. Replaced by RASPADORI (75th minute).

GENOA

MARTINEZ: See above.

VASQUEZ (5): Solid defensively, but offered little in attack.

BANI (5): Not troubled for most of the game, but was too far away from Ngonge for the equalizer.

DE WINTER (5): Similar to his defensive partner, he did not come out quickly enough to prevent the goal.

SABELLI (5): Focused on his defensive duties and closed down the spaces well, but sometimes struggled against Kvaratskhelia. Replaced by CITTADINI (90th minute).

MARTIN CARICOL (3): Lackluster performance, took no risks, and was often caught out of position.

FREUDRUP (5): His well-taken goal rewarded his work rate throughout the game, where he showed intelligent positioning.

BADELJ (C) (5): The captain fulfilled his role, filling the spaces and trying to build attacks from the back. Replaced by STROOTMAN (91st minute).

MESSIAS (3): A game to forget, he made no difference and lost his way in his attempts to create something. Replaced by MALINOVSKYI (75th minute).

GUDMUNSSEN (5): Courageous in his runs, but often found himself in no man’s land. He never gave up, though. Replaced by VITINHA (82nd minute).

RETEGUI (5): He was the most dangerous player in the first half with a header and a shot on the turn, but disappeared in the second half. Replaced by EKUBAN (75th minute).
