OGC Nice eye Portuguese winger Jota for €20 Million

OGC Nice have been one of the most active clubs in the 2024 winter transfer window, bolstering their squad with the signings of Mohamed-Ali Cho from Real Sociedad and Valentin Rosier from Besiktas. Now, the French Riviera club have set their sights on Portugal.

According to O Jogo, Nice are showing strong interest in Vitoria Guimaraes winger João Pedro Ferreira Silva, better known as Jota (not to be confused with the Jota of Al-Ittihad). The 24-year-old has impressed since joining the Portuguese club in 2022, scoring 12 goals and providing 8 assists in 63 appearances, attracting the attention of Nice.

The Portuguese outlet claims that Nice have already made an offer for the player. While Jota is contracted to the Portuguese club until 2025, his contractual situation seems favorable for a departure, especially since he has a release clause set at €20 million.

The player, who was elected Liga Betclic player of the month for October and November, has also attracted interest from other prestigious clubs such as AC Milan, Villarreal, Nantes, Toulouse, and Wolverhampton Wanderers.
