Kylian Mbappé to leave PSG, Arsenal still interested

Kylian Mbappé will leave Paris Saint-Germain at the end of the season. Real Madrid is the likely destination, but Arsenal are still hoping to land the French superstar.

Mbappé has finally made his decision clear. Despite no official confirmation, the French striker will leave PSG at the end of the season. He has kept his promise to inform his president, Nasser Al-Khelaïfi, first.

Real Madrid are ecstatic and are already preparing for his presentation this summer. Mbappé has long dreamed of playing for the Spanish giants. However, there is no official confirmation that a final agreement has been reached between Mbappé and Real Madrid. His salary, image rights, and participation in the 2024 Paris Olympics are still up for discussion.

These points of contention give hope to other European clubs, especially considering the Mbappé clan’s track record. In the Premier League, Arsenal are still holding out hope, even though Real Madrid are the clear favorites. Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta has refused to rule out a move for the 2018 World Cup winner. For the Spanish coach, such an opportunity is not to be missed, and it is worth trying his luck.

Arsenal refuse to give up

“When a player of this caliber is available, you should always be in the conversation, but as you say, it seems that this case is going in another direction,” said Arteta, a former PSG player who would obviously love to sign Kylian Mbappé. The London club have the financial means to offer him a huge salary, perhaps even higher than Real Madrid’s revised offer. And Gunners fans are already dreaming of Mbappé becoming the successor to Thierry Henry in their hearts.

But Arteta understands that, at the moment, it doesn’t seem like Mbappé is interested in the Premier League despite his admiration for the competition. Real Madrid is his priority, and if he is willing to accept a significant pay cut to leave PSG, it is only to join Real Madrid.
