Real Madrid, under the guidance of Carlo Ancelotti, are reportedly interested in Bayer Leverkusen defender Odilon Kossounou.

The Spanish giants are in the market for a central defender this summer, and according to Ekrem Konur, Ancelotti has sent scouts to watch the 23-year-old Ivorian in action.

Kossounou has impressed for Leverkusen this season, and his performances have caught the attention of several other top clubs, including Manchester United and Liverpool.

Real Madrid are likely to face stiff competition for Kossounou’s signature, but they are confident that they can land the player. They are prepared to offer €35 million for the defender, which is likely to be enough to tempt Leverkusen into selling.

Kossounou would be a good addition to Real Madrid’s squad. He is a strong, athletic defender who is good in the air and comfortable playing with the ball at his feet. He would provide competition for David Alaba, Eder Militao, and Nacho Fernandez in the Real Madrid defense.

The signing of Kossounou would be a statement of intent from Real Madrid. It would show that they are serious about challenging for the Champions League title next season.
