Paris Saint-Germain are reportedly planning to open contract talks with Achraf Hakimi in the near future.
Hakimi, who joined PSG from Inter Milan in the summer of 2021 for a fee of €68 million, is currently under contract with the club until 2026. However, according to RMC Sport, the French capital club are keen to extend the 25-year-old Morocco international’s deal in order to secure his long-term future.
The report claims that PSG are aware of Hakimi’s interest in returning to Inter Milan at some point in his career, but they are confident that they can convince him to stay in Paris for the foreseeable future.
Hakimi has been a key player for PSG since his arrival at the club, making 41 appearances in all competitions and scoring seven goals. He has also been a regular for the Moroccan national team, winning 43 caps and scoring eight goals.
The news of PSG’s plans to open contract talks with Hakimi will come as a boost to the club’s fans, who have been impressed with the defender’s performances since he joined the club. It will also be a blow to Inter Milan, who have been hoping to bring Hakimi back to the San Siro in the future.
