The Champions League Round of 16 continues with Lazio hosting Bayern Munich at the Stadio Olimpico for the first leg of their tie (kick-off at 9pm CET, live on BT Sport).
The Bavarians are the favorites going into this game, as they are still unbeaten in the competition (five wins and a draw), but they have been inconsistent in the league, as evidenced by their heavy defeat at Leverkusen on Saturday (0-3).
Lazio, on the other hand, are struggling in Serie A (7th with 37 points), but Sarri’s men have performed well in the Champions League so far, finishing second in their group behind Atlético Madrid but ahead of Feyenoord and Celtic.
For this match, Maurizio Sarri will be without Rovella and Zaccagni. He will remain faithful to his 4-3-3 formation with Provedel in goal. Hysaj, Gila, Romagnoli and Marusic will form the defense. Vecino, Guendouzi and Luis Alberto will play in midfield, while Immobile will be supported by Felipe Anderson and Isaksen up front.
Opposite him, Thomas Tuchel also has his share of absentees (Davies, Coman, Laimer, Gnabry) but still has a very solid team with Neuer in goal. Mazraoui, Upamecano, Kim and Guerreiro will form the back four. Kimmich and Goretzka will be in midfield, while the trio of Sané-Musiala-Muller will support Kane up front.
Official lineups:
Lazio: Provedel – Hysaj, Gila, Romagnoli, Marusic – Guendouzi, Vecino, Luis Alberto – Isaksen, Immobile, Felipe Anderson.
Bayern Munich: Neuer – Mazraoui, Upamecano, Kim, Guerreiro – Kimmich, Goretzka – Muller, Musiala, Sané – Kane.
