Rennes extended their remarkable winning streak to eight games in all competitions with a hard-fought 1-0 victory against Le Havre in Ligue 1.

Le Havre, enjoying a solid return to the top flight, started brightly and nearly stunned the visitors. They came close on two occasions through Operi’s flicked header and Bayo’s shot saved by Mandanda. However, Rennes gradually grew into the game and began to dominate possession.

The second half saw Rennes push harder, and their persistence paid off just before the hour mark. Terrier played a delightful through ball to Bourigeaud, who kept his composure to slot home his 50th Ligue 1 goal. Despite some late pressure from Le Havre, Rennes held on for a precious three points.

This win keeps Rennes firmly in the hunt for a European spot, sitting just four points behind Lens in sixth. Le Havre, despite the defeat, remain comfortably in midtable, seven points clear of the relegation zone.
