Rennes star Enzo Le Fée ruled out of AC Milan clash with hamstring tear

Stade Rennais have suffered a major blow ahead of their Europa League tie against AC Milan, with star midfielder Enzo Le Fée ruled out with a hamstring tear.

The 24-year-old was forced off just two minutes into Rennes’ 6-1 Coupe de France win over Sochaux on Wednesday. An MRI scan on Thursday confirmed the extent of the injury, and Le Fée is now expected to be sidelined for several weeks.

Le Fée has been a key player for Rennes this season, making 28 appearances in all competitions and scoring four goals. His absence is a huge blow for the French club, which faces AC Milan in the first leg of their Europa League play-off tie on February 15.

Rennes coach Julien Stéphan will be without Le Fée for the crucial clash, but he has several options to replace him in midfield. Baptiste Santamaria and Azor Matuziwa are the most likely candidates to start, while Benjamin Bourigeaud, Désiré Doué, and Ludovic Blas could also be called upon.

Rennes will need to be at their best to overcome AC Milan without Le Fée, but the team’s unity and solidarity will be key to overcoming this challenge and reaching the next round of the Europa League.
