Paris Saint-Germain are reportedly considering a move for Arsenal winger Gabriel Martinelli as they prepare for a future without Kylian Mbappé, according to Ekrem KONUR.
Mbappé’s contract expires at the end of the season and he is widely expected to join Real Madrid on a free transfer. With that in mind, PSG are scouring the market for attacking reinforcements and Martinelli has emerged as a potential target.
The 22-year-old Brazilian has enjoyed two impressive seasons at Arsenal, scoring 15 goals and providing 5 assists in the Premier League last term. He has been less prolific this season, with 5 goals and 2 assists in the league so far, but he remains highly rated and Transfermarkt values him at €85 million.
Martinelli signed a new contract with Arsenal until 2027, with an option for an additional year, in February 2023. He has remained a regular in Mikel Arteta’s side and has played a key role in the Gunners’ title challenge this season.
The Brazilian international would be a difficult player to prise away from Arsenal, who are also in contention for the Champions League. However, if PSG are willing to meet their asking price, Martinelli could be a shrewd addition to their squad.
