Carlo Ancelotti has been dealt a blow ahead of Real Madrid’s crucial match against Girona, with Vinicius Junior a major doubt for the game.
The Brazilian forward has been struggling with a serious neck problem and did not train on Wednesday. He is now a serious doubt for Saturday’s clash, although the player himself is desperate to play.
Nacho and Antonio Rüdiger are also fitness concerns for Ancelotti. Nacho is suffering from an overload, while Rüdiger is nursing a knock from the Getafe game last Thursday.
Rüdiger did some individual work on the pitch on Wednesday, while Nacho and Vinicius trained indoors. None of the three players were seen alongside their teammates.
The potential absence of all three players is a major worry for Real Madrid. They have a crucial game against Girona coming up, and they also have the Champions League returning next week.
Real Madrid have been plagued by injuries this season. Thibaut Courtois, Eder Militao and David Alaba have all missed significant chunks of the season, and Ancelotti will be hoping that his injury list does not get any longer.
