AC Milan: Will Mike Maignan sign a new contract or join Bayern Munich?

Mike Maignan has become a key player for AC Milan since joining the club from Lille in 2021.

The 28-year-old French goalkeeper has kept 20 clean sheets in 34 appearances in all competitions this season.

Maignan’s current contract with Milan runs until June 2026, but he is reportedly in negotiations for an extension.

The French international is said to be seeking a salary increase to match that of Rafael Leão, who earns around €7 million per year, according to Tuttosport.

Milan are hoping to close the deal before the end of the season, as they are aware of interest from Bayern Munich.

The German champions are looking for a successor to Manuel Neuer, who will turn 39 in March.

Bayern Munich would have no problem meeting Maignan’s salary demands, and they could offer him the chance to compete for trophies in the Champions League.

It remains to be seen whether Maignan will sign a new contract with Milan or join Bayern Munich.

The decision could come down to which club offers him the best financial package and the chance to win silverware.
